Fix your date of Travel and flight

All the visitors are requested to fix provisional date of travel, which includes the date you would be flying in Bhutan and the date of exit. Visitors need to provide your flight details to the tour agency and the agency would also book the ticket on your behalf for more convenience. All the visitors planning to visit Bhutan must apply for visas and pay for it in advance through the agency. If possible you should try and make your travel arrangements at least 90 days prior to travel to allow time for all the formalities to be completed.

Bhutan Tour Payment

In accordance with the policies of the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), visitors to Bhutan must deposit the payment in advance before starting your journey. It is only on the deposit of the payment that you will get your visa clearance letter. Visitors might feel insecure about depositing your money but we would like to state it clearly that, the money deposited would be safely transferred to the Tourism Council of Bhutan’s account. The travel agency would not receive any payment; it would be only on your arrival to Bhutan and with the conclusion of tour in
Bhutan. However, the visitors must send in your payment receipt to the agency via email, so that the agency can assure it for you for your complacency.

Visa Procedure

Everyone traveling to Bhutan requires a visa, except for Indian, Bangladeshi and Maldivian passport holders. Visas are issued for duration of two weeks, and cost $40. Your visa will be placed in your passport when you arrive at Immigration control at Paro airport. To Process with your visa to travel in Bhutan, the visitors have to send in your detailed and filled passport application form. The agency would send the copy of the passport. As mentioned, it is only on the deposition of your payment that the agency would will able to process the visa clearance letter from the government. It takes at least 2 weeks for the visa to be processed, so the visitors are recommended to apply for it prior the date mentioned, probably three weeks prior to it. When the visa is processed, the agency would send it through the email for it is mandatory for the foreign visitors to show the copy of the letter to the authority in the air check point on reaching to Paro air port or at the border areas of India mainly Phuentsholing and Gelephu if you are travelling via road. The original visa would be stamped on your passport, so that you don’t face any kind of inconveniences during your stay in Bhutan. The visitors can expect your visas 2 weeks prior to your travel to Bhutan but only on the completion of the processing.

Visas for the Indian National

Indian visitors are permitted for a period of a month in Bhutan and don’t require visas. However, we would urge the visitors to carry with them their pass ports or voter registration cards for the identification process at the check post.

Usually, you are entitled to the following services as part of the package you are offered.

 A minimum of 3 star accommodation (4 & 5 star may require an additional premium).
 All meals
 A licensed Bhutanese tour guide for the extent of your stay
 An experienced driver
 A good vehicle (4WD for travelling couples or mini bus or bus for bigger groups)
 Camping equipment and haulage for trekking tours
 Sightseeing and entrance fees for the museums and monuments
 All internal taxes and charges
 A sustainable tourism Royalty of $100. This Royalty goes towards free education, free healthcare, poverty alleviation, along with the building of infrastructure.

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT INCLUDED:

Travel Insurance

 Meals at 5 star restaurants. Breakfast at 5 stars restaurant is included if you have booked a night at the hotel.

 Tips for the guide and driver
 Druk air ticketing cost is usually not included in our listed travel packages due to the fluctuation of foreign exchange.

SURCHARGES

These are as follows:
 Single individual – US$ 40 per night
 Group of 2 persons only – US$ 30 per person per night
 There is no surcharge for three packs and above
 For Trekking, for a group of less than 3 people: an additional surcharge of US$ 40 per person per night will
be applicable.
 Visa fee of US$ 40 per person will be applicable
All rates and conditions applied above are subject to change depending upon the policies of the Royal Government
of Bhutan which shall be intimated to you as soon as our office is notified officially about it.

WHAT’S THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TRAVEL TO BHUTAN?

Tour Programmes booked and subsequently canceled shall be subject to cancellation charges as follows:
 within 30 days of the start of programmed ~ no charges
 within 21 days ~ 25% of rate
 within 14 days ~ 30% of rate
 within 7 days ~ 45% of rate
 less than 7 days or without notice ~ 65% of rate
  after arrival in Bhutan ~ 100%

For air tickets issued and subsequent cancellation follows as:

 100% refund permitted for tickets cancelled more than 30 days from the date of travel.
 50% refund permitted for tickets cancelled between 30 – last 10 days from the date of travel.
 25% refund permitted for tickets cancelled prior to 03 (three) days from the date of travel.
 There will also be US$70 administration fee on each ticket cancelled.

For Druk air tickets issued and subsequent reschedule, the following applies.

 USD40 or equivalent local currency for every flight reschedule less than 72hours prior to date of travel.
 No charges for business class passengers.

BOOKING A TOUR/ TREKKING

All the Foreign National Tourists visiting Bhutan must travel through all-inclusive package Tourism. All tours must be booked through a Local Travel Operator such as Bhutan trekking Services and entire arrangements in the Kingdom will be made by us. For Clients traveling in peak seasons and Festivals time, it is necessary to book the Tour at least two and half months in advance. Festivals held in autumn and spring are peak time for tourists and without early reservation it can be difficult to confirm flights and hotels.
